Since the very beginning, Scandinavian Avionics A/S has had the objective of serving both the civil and military aviation industries through the sales, installation, and maintenance of avionics systems. Over time, the company has continued to evolve, adding new departments and niche competencies, ultimately becoming the headquarter of what we today know as The SA Group.
Today, The SA Group is a full turn-key supplier of avionics and training solutions for the civil and governmental domains, and we are standing by to take on any challenge within our niches.
Scandinavian Avionics – where it all began
Scandinavian Avionics (SA) was established in 1978 and remains the largest division within the group.
Conveniently located at Billund International Airport, Denmark’s second-largest airport, SA provides avionics and instrument component maintenance services, through our dedicated workshops, and aircraft modification programs in our two hangar facilities or via our mobile installation teams.
As the headquarters of The SA Group, Scandinavian Avionics holds many of the group’s core approvals and supports several key functions across the organization, including Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), IT, Finance, Quality&Compliance, Supplier Agreements, Engineering, and Sales. These shared services are available to all departments of The SA Group, allowing each division to focus on being technical and supportive locally, while benefiting from the strengths and support of the group concept.

Over the past 47+ years, the list of projects has grown significantly, and the accumulated experience and expertise have developed into something truly unique within the avionics industry.

Based on our EASA Part 145, Part 21G, UK CAA, and FAA approvals, Scandinavian Avionics provides everything from avionics sales and technical installation to aircraft modification programs and repair services. Combined with the approvals, capabilities, and close collaboration across the group, SA can support the full scope of an avionics project—from nose to tail.
Home of The SA Group
With its main avionics operations based in Billund—together with the Shared Service Centre, finance and marketing departments, and in close proximity to SA Design, SA Production, and AEROTEAM Training Solutions—Scandinavian Avionics serves as the central hub of The SA Group and a strong link between all group departments.
Through our Shared Service Centre, we promote close internal collaboration across departments while delivering strong customer service and efficient logistics support to our partners and customers.
In addition, the SA sales team works closely with local sales organizations across the group, while the SA finance department manages and supports financial activities throughout the group’s divisions.
