The world of aviation is constantly evolving, increasing its focus on safety and performance to continue lowering risk and increase efficiency throughout the industry. No matter the size and complexity of an aircraft alteration you need approved data as the basis. Within The SA Group we have been at the forefront of developing approved data (Supplemental Type Certificates (STC’s) and Minor Changes) for aircraft modifications since the foundation of our company, and our extensive portfolio of approved certification programs speaks its own language. With more than 2000 certification programs approved to date – our experience and project focused approach enables us to support any certification program on a global scale.
The SA Group offers certification focused on the customers operation and local requirements. The core of our certification capability is our EASA Part 21J approved design organization (DOA), Scandinavian Avionics Design (SA Design), where we have been delivering EASA approved services since 2004. SA Design also holds the EMAR 21J approval under the Danish military airworthiness regime, allowing us to develop and approve certification packages for governmental registered aircraft. Even though our design approvals are EASA / EMAR centric, our certification programs are approved for a wide range of other regulatory frameworks, such as the FAA (America), DGCA (India), ANAC (Brazil), GACA (Saudi Arabia), and JCAB (Japan).
The scope of our design approval covers any avionics and electrical modification for fixed-wing aircraft as well as helicopters, including the structural modifications required, supporting civil and governmental applications worldwide.
The last two decades we have been involved in some of the most complex aircraft alteration programs within our niche, including full EFIS upgrades including engine indication and special mission interfaces, complete intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) modifications and aircraft self-protection programs, and we are standing by to support your next certification program.
Certification is only half of it
We can certify a wide range of aircraft alterations, however the key to our flexibility and solution-oriented approach is our in-house design and engineering capability. Our structural and electrical engineering capacity is spread across numerous departments of The SA Group making sure innovation and installation efficiency is the top priority when designing an aircraft alteration solution. Our turn-key offering really comes into play when our design and engineering teams are designing the solution, our certification team certifies and approves it, the parts designed are produced in our production organization (POA) and the modification on the aircraft is performed by our installation teams.
